
BIOGRAPHY
Mete Tasin is a classically trained Tenor who has thrilled audiences around the world with his Opera and Classical performances. Just back from a one-and-a-half-year European tour, where he studied with Montserrat Caballé (of Freddie Mercury/Barcelona fame) who praised Mete for "a voice like no other". Mete's diverse repertoire includes Classical, Pop, Italian, Broadway, Standards, as well as Opera. In his latest recording project, admirably demonstrates the beauty and flexibility of his voice.
Meté Tasin is a compelling and versatile opera singer who was born in Würzburg, Germany and raised in Turkey. He studied with Prof. Guzin GUREL at Istanbul University State Conservatory and Patricia McCaffrey at Brooklyn College (Master of Music). His career began in Minnesota, USA with Carmen ( Don Jose ) and Lucia di Lammermoor ( Arturo ). Mete has been in many leading roles in Europe, United States and Turkey.
In the coming season for "La Traviata by Verdi - Gaston " he will take on a number of roles with the San Jose Opera House. Mete previously performed as the title role of Arlecchino in Pagliacci by Leoncavallo at the San Jose Opera in California. He has also represented the San Francisco Opera by singing at Union Street and North Beach Festivals as a soloist.
